I found a small earthenware pot, or ddukbaegi, for $5.99 at the market this morning. One dish I've always wanted to try was gaeranchim, or steamed egg. It's slowly heating up in a hot water bath right now, so we'll see how it goes. :-]
The green onions are wonderful about growing quickly and healthily. I've been cutting and cooking with the same stalks for at least 5 months now. They finally seemed to slow down and outgrow their small pots this past week. When I took them out to inspect them, their roots had completely taken over! I trimmed their roots, added some fresh soil and fertilizer, cut the stalks to small nubs, and replanted them in the same pots. They've already started growing again! Also harvested were several large leaves of basil, and this sprig of lemon thyme.
